Problem with the Y axis

Hello
I got a problem with the Y axis (just to make sure I mean the up and down axis),
I can't move the objects in the Y axis when I edit a metaball object,
plus when I make a simple sphere and convert it to the vertex model I have
the same problem. Is there something Im doing wrong?

btw
Im currently using the C5 Pro demo.

The Y axis in Carrara is the Zaxis in other apps (i.e in and out, not up and down), same as in Vue Esprit.

I like it it the other way round too.

You'll get used to it.

I think the way Carrara interprets X, Y and Z axis is odd. It works but it is different from other 3-D programs. I wish Eovia would change it.

I think it makes sense. If you consider the ground as your X and Y, then the other direction is Z. AND.... (if your into Star Trek...) in the 'Wrath of Kahn' Kirk has the ship go in the Z direction to drop into a cloud, and then come back up behind Kahn. So there is some basis for it elsewhere.

Cyborg - perhaps post another thread - heading it specifically an animation question.

Sorry I'm not an animator.

In the world of film X and Y are horizontal and verticle and Z is the depth. I like it that way much better. I understand your logic and Carrara's.
