need help with Uv-mapping

i have started to practise carrara and dont know how to add uv maps i have painted...It would be great if some one could help me and tell how to add them. Do i put them some how to texture maps or what..? O.o

I know how to select area i want to map and i know how to export that mapping pic, but i dont know how to add that map to my model, after i have painted all the parts in it.

I am not the one to answer this but! Presuming you repainted over a duplicate of the original UV. I think, you select the object, enter the texture room, select Texture map, and apply your new work there. I may be wrong but something to work on until a proper reply comes.

You must choose "Projection mapping" mode for your Top Shader, and then select the appropriate mapping scheme for the UV map you created.

Your texture map is imported as a texture in the colour option.
