Texturing

Hi there,

I am very beginner in the Carrara, but have some exp. in other 3d modelling tools.
My Question: what is the best way to do a realistic texturing e.g. a cube by "brick" bump-mapping?

Not quite sure of your question but the answer is in the Chapter "Texture" starting at page 577(587) of the Help. You will get to the "bricks" bit. (Shortcut--in the help--Search--bricks!)

Thanks for that.
But my question was about what is the right way...
I mean there are a few ways to do some texturing, and apparently result will be slightly differ, but I am interesting about a true realistic result.

E.g. if I need to texture just a plane wall - it's easy, but if there is some column with very complex structure of surface, etc - this is another way... right?
Also, I am wondering how to add for some texture additional attribute like a wet after rain or even shower...

Thanks in advance for any help in this direction.

Not sure about what you mean by complex structure. Could be be more specific? It should work fine for a column, if you have curved surfaces that might not work out well and you might either need to UV map or do some tricks with plugins.

As far as wetness, I think playing with the gloss, highlight and reflection channels will give you a good result.
