| Texturing
Hi there, I am very beginner in the Carrara, but have some exp. in other 3d modelling tools. My Question: what is the best way to do a realistic texturing e.g. a cube by "brick" bump-mapping? |

Thanks for that. But my question was about what is the right way... I mean there are a few ways to do some texturing, and apparently result will be slightly differ, but I am interesting about a true realistic result. E.g. if I need to texture just a plane wall - it's easy, but if there is some column with very complex structure of surface, etc - this is another way... right? Also, I am wondering how to add for some texture additional attribute like a wet after rain or even shower... Thanks in advance for any help in this direction. |

Not sure about what you mean by complex structure. Could be be more specific? It should work fine for a column, if you have curved surfaces that might not work out well and you might either need to UV map or do some tricks with plugins. As far as wetness, I think playing with the gloss, highlight and reflection channels will give you a good result.
