Negative Lights?

There doesn't seem to be a negative option for lights - how do I achieve this effect?

Regards

Just curious, this might be a dumb question, but Im pretty new to 3D .... what do you use negative lights for? ....making holes in space?

Shining darkness rather than light - to absorb light in areas you dont want.

Basically it allows you further control of shading with lights.

But, seriously, in 3 years of using Bryce, never had need for them (and I really rendered a lot of things), never heard good enough argument to have one. I reckon, one could use them somehow, but never seen good example of using it, besides in a "deep space" scenes.

Wow, I never heard of this, can you make black holes with it?
Would be cool.
Read a review of Car 5 in a dutch magazine. They compared it positively with Maya.
Nice.

Sounds too esoteric to be of interest to the majority I would think.

I like Car 5 already 1000 times more then all what was before. And I've seen them al.

Negative lights are very helpful in creating certain lighting effects. I want them, too.

Can you have negative lights that remove other shader properties like reflection or transparency or bump where they fall? That would be cool (maybe?) On second thoughts, I seem to have enough bells and whistles to play with now to keep me going until winter as it is.

Bryce has many functions that Carrara would do well to emulate. Negative lights, copy and paste of an objects location, and better lighting physics to name a few.
