Puke Blurry reflections

My Carrara 5 always locks up when I turn these on, before I send this to Eovia, I would like to see does anyone else have this problem ?

Thank you guys in advance, Kemal.

Are you sure it locks up? Blurry reflections are excruciatingly slow.

Dry

Well, to me if absolutelly nothing happens in 20 minutes after I change ray depth from 3 to 4, something is definetly wrong !

I mean, come on, even slowest renderer in the world (Bryce5) does not slow down a bit, seriously, no change in rendering time on my machine, when I turn blurry reflections ON.

Only way I can actually effectively render with blurry reflections in Carrara 5 on my system is when I set it up on 1 (ray depth) and that is absolutely dumb, , why bother with the slider at all ?

LoneGunman - Yes I can confirm what you state (C5 for the Mac).

The system is locking up with the spinning wheel of death and this is testing it on just a sphere on an infinite plane using a background for a reflection test. Even switching the blur amount low makes little difference.

I tested this with auto-update and checkbaord preview off and the same problem occurs.

Strange as I was just about to post the same bug myself as this problem is holding me up from finishing a render.

Thanks for confirming that, I was going out of my mind, almost started thinking that my machine is ready for new speedy upgrade, I love blurry reflections, but I just stop using them becouse of this extreme slowdown (yep, even on simple sphere).

Hopefuly it's gonna be fixed
