Hello, I think it is possible to edit most 3d-models (it only depends on the format it is saved in). Load your model into Carrara, select it and go into the modeling room. There you convert the model into vertex modifier if necessary (edit->convert to other modeler->vertex modeler). Then you should be able to move the vertices or edges around.

I'll assume you can import the object into Carrara fine. You can then convert the model into a Vertex Model or when you import it, have it import as a vertex model to begin with. The 2nd option is the better one. You can use the tools in the VM to edit the model. However, if you add points and polygons, you will destory any existing UV setups; I do not know if your model has them or not pre-setup for you. You may have to re-assign the UVs afterwards. If you only moved the existed points, then the UV map wouldn't be damaged, but you may also want to tweek that to better represent the modifications you've done. I would read the manual's section about the VM to get an idea what you can do with those tools. |

Although, it's not a city, you might want to use the island/tree replicator tutorial on the tutorial section. By learning to use the replicator, you can quickly build up a full city by using several building models that get replicated over and over again. Also, the use of custom replicator maps (black-white maps to show where the replicator can or can not put the instances on; to such effect as to avoid having a building put into a road) can make the city's structuring easier.
