| Antialiasing and twinklies
I'm trying to render a scene with a lot of trees in it, where the camera is moving slowly back. The trees are all in the background, and they're shimmering with a bad case of the twinklies. I know this is basically an antialiasing issue, related to there being too much detail for the output format to handle, but my experiments in trying to fix it are taking a long time, as everything I try slows down the render time. Starting from the default "fast" photorealistic render, I've so far tried going for higher antialiasing settings, and using the depth of field option to blur the background, but I'm still getting twinklies. I'm almost at the point of switching to a static camera, but I would really like to solve this problem. Can anyone advise on appropriate render settings without it taking forever to render? My output is supposed to be PAL format (720x576, 25fps, interleaved) |

Some tips as far as twinkling is concerned: Make sure FULL RAYTRACE is on. Set object and shadow accuracy to 2 or maybe even 1.
