shrink to fit?

Can Carrara do what I'm seeing in this:

http://www.philc.net/PoserToolBox.htm

On the left, the 'shrink to fit' feature?

I've seen plugins to do this in some of the ultra-expensive apps, and I suppose I could use the above as a two step between Poser and Carrara, unless I don't need to?

I have not seen anything like this in Carrara 5. I know 3DS Max and C4D have features for for dynamic cloth and dynamic hair but but Carrara 5 does not as of yet. I imagine that is next on the agenda for Carrara. By version 7.0 Carrara should out perform some of the more expensive 3-D programs.

Ok. If it has nothing like this particular feature, then I'll feel justified buying this plugin for Poser (rather than an equivalent plugin for Carrara).

I've got mixed feelings over Poser's cloth room - sometimes it doesn't give the results you desire, and you end up doing more tweaking in something like Carrara than you would have if you had just started from scratch... ;)

This feature doesn't look like its a cloth room item though.

I imagine Carrara 6 will have dynamic hair and cloth and I imagine it will work in a way that will let Carrara import Poser dynamic hair and cloth with out the need for a plugin.

In Poser, this plugins feature is a python script rather than a 'dynamics' issue.

Some soft of distance calculation I gather. I bought it this morning, but haven't yet been able to test it. That won't happen until I get home in about 6 hours or so.

I plan to try and break it - by seeing if I can shrink in some unusual glove and bodysuit designs - things that the clothing room, for me, in Poser, hates...

PhilC does some pretty amazing Poser plugins though. He's a one-man 'turn Poser in a modeling application by exploiting every last loophole' operation. But of course, he's limited to what Poser is limited to, and that is less than something like Carrara.

Still, the feature of having the ability to move files between the two apps easily means that combined, Carrara might very well become one of the better apps for the kind of figure work artists who use apps like Poser and Daz|Studio need.

(Which is where I hope to develop a skill set).

And this ease of moving between means I can exploit how PhilC stretches Poser's limits, and then improve upon in Carrara - using each as a 'launch pad' for improving on the other.
