| Cube ![]() | [3DSMax]Bug? - Poser's magnets failed to import In doing up this image: ![]() When I imported the figure the magnets I had used in Poser to get her to fit into that outfit and keep her hair under her hat all disapeared on me. As well, her 'bra cups' flew up over her head. Fortunately I was able to repose the cups, and by switching the figure to a vertex model I just morphed her back into her clothing. So in a way it became a learning exercise. ;) But, are Poser magnets supposed to stay around on 'native import'? In a past effort I had assumed they came in intact, but didn't check all that closely. It became obvious this time around when her knee, shoulder, and hair all popped out. |

| Cube ![]() | That's my presumption as well. Despite the lens flare thread, I am impressed with the product, but of course it has bugs. The sooner we find them, the sooner they can enter the 'fix me queue'. I'm more likely to find Poser bugs than anything else, because I rely on Poser so much. It was very nice to be able to repose the figure in Carrara - allowing me to tweak problems rather than having to go all the way back to Poser and then re-import, re-align, etc... |

| Now, I learn animation ![]() | I think you will find that all programs will have thier pros and cons. True Space 7 seems to have a very good photo realistic image preview while animating and modeling. They say it was built from the gound up and uses Direct X. I don't think Carrara has as good of previews as TS 7 and from the link you made to Renderosity it looks like True Space 6/7 can do the lighting effect with lens flares that you want. Like others that have used both True Space and Carrara, I think Carrara is easier and does offer more bang for the buck. Carrars 5 is competing with both Poser and Vue. It may take version 6 to really shine. You may not be able to replace Vue with Carrara just yet but in time I think you will. |
