I know I "can", but I still believe the tools are such in Carrara that it precludes being easy to do so. Too many times have I gone to do something simple like fill a polygon, and Car will just refuse to do it. Or extrude a polyine on an existing object and have it give a "Some edges already has 2 polygons" error, and get confused by the poor grammar. ;-) |

Alrighty then. I stand corrected. I haven't even really LOOKED at the tools in Carrara's vertex modeling room since version 3. Things have vastly improved since then. While it's still obviously not as powerful at something like Hexagon (judging from what I saw in the video), at least I find it usable now. Things like the subdivision preview help tons, as well at the new loop tools and such. I tossed this together in a couple of hours, which considering how much I've used the vertex modelor (except for tweaking existing meshes or conversions from the other modeling types) isn't too bad, I suppose. |

I am with Ringo on this. Carrara should stand on its own to be considered high end. The potential is there the money would be better spent if they develop better character animation tools within Carrara. Quote:
