Dry poser native import - declothes figure and repositions elements

As you can see, my first Poser Import didn't go too well. It was a .pzz file and my poser version is 5.0.4.332.

The objects seem to have been jumbled around in their locations, and the shirt also lost its posing and got deformed somehow.

The balls and squares represent magnets in poser.

What you are looking at is Aiko posed on a rock that she was touching, wearing an outfit that was made for victoria and wardrobe wizarded down to fit aiko. Aiko was reshaped into an elf with a set of magnets - those seem to still be working, but went suddenly visible.

The shirt was parented but not conformed. I posed it manually.

The hair however, an hr2-prop, has lost its shape. It is the NyakoHair from renderosity freestuff.

Strangely, she seems to have managed to keep hold of her sword - which is parented to her hand.

The dark black is not an error, that's the proper texture and it only looks gray-blue in poser because I just did a low quality draft render and have default lights there.

At right is the figure rendered in poser. My gallery has a final composition from Vue, but is not -work safe-. It is titled 'The Witch and the Dragon' and this figure appears in the background.

It just happened to me again, this time with an Aiko who's entire outfit and textures were 'freestuff' entries. So I can give URLs to download and people can let me know if they're getting it too:

Daz3d Aiko 3...

Take the Sorceress and the Renaissance dresses from here:
http://www.eldritch.se/poser/Renaissances_BallRoom/
http://www.eldritch.se/poser/Sorceress_Castle/

Put together a combo like my screenshot, and then import into carrara.

Renaissance Hair and SleevesShort
Sorceress Tabard, Leggings, and HighColar

Renaissance texture applied to Aiko. Tabard parented to the chest of the high collar (rather than conformed).

I think maybe both the hair type and the clothing type may be those which require Transposer to import properly.Others may confirm.

The tabard and the shirt were both standard conforming objects, and the hair is an hr2 prop - old style poser hair, in the first case, and a conforming cr2 in the second. No dynamics in either, in either of my two imports.

The sword in the first was parented rather than conformed and it stuck to the right spot. The tabard was parented in the second, but the hip belt in the first was conformed - both flew away and the tabard 'wrinkled'.

I just seem to be getting this problem with any aiko import.

Hi Arcady

The import problem, have been transmited to the Eovia Team (it's the same problem when importing an Poser Animation [PZZ or PZ3], with Transposer & Poser 6 in C5 pro...).
Hope they found one soluce soon

Georges
ps: sorry for my poor english

I've actually already had an email from the eovia team - for those who are watching. They got on it before my second post in here.

My second and later posts in here are largely motivated by a desire to see if the bug is me or if anyone else can duplicate it.

And also, because the first one involved a whole bunch of models I can't distribute, finding in a figure composed of all 'free items' made it something I could 'share'.

I'm wondering if it has something to do with the 'unimesh' thing of the daz models - Aiko, Michael, Victoria, Stephanie, David, Hiro - all of their version 3 entries are actually the same mesh, and maybe Carrara is getting that confused - though it does ask me to find the obj file, and I give it the obj file for Aiko. If the Aiko obj file is at a different scale than the Aiko cr2 - I could see room there for something funny. Especially given that Aiko and Hiro are on a different scale than the other unimesh figures.

But that's just guesswork from someone who hasn't seen any of the actual code.

I've imported both 'Furrette' (a non-unimesh freebie from renderosity) and 'victoria 3' fine - and the furrette I imported was actually wearing a victoria shirt and Aiko pants rescaled with Wardrobe Wizard (I just imported the same one as the model I used in my gallery at renderosity to see if it would come in). I did that test because at first I figured it was the complexity of Wardrobe Wizard. But getting that figure in fine disproved that theory.

What was the answer that Eovia gave? Is this a confirmed bug? I've had the same problem with one conforming dress for V3, and a couple of hair props on V3 and Michael. Again, neither were dynamic

It works fine with Transposer, by the way, so there is a workround.

$100 isn't a workaround. Especially for something that is listed as part of the core product.

They haven't gotten back to me yet since I sent them some files last night with an Aiko that was all composed of 'free items' (to make troubleshooting easier), so I assume it is being worked on and I am trying to move on to other projects until a patch comes out.

They've been active in communicating with me, so I'm not too worried.

That would be nice.

Until then I'm probably going to have to stick with working in Vue. For me the work flow begin with [a] figure[s] in Poser, then I bring that into some other app and begin composition. And hopefully modeling additional elements as well soon - but I have to get in the door first.

Seems every time I import an Aiko figure the hair, and often more, deforms and loses its original morphs and posing.

This one appears to be fixed so far, judging from two quick test imports.

Thank you.
