| Inconsistent/poor poser import with C5pro demo
I'm trying the demo to determine if I should buy C5. Most of my existing content is in poser so I'm interested in using the native import feature. However, Carrara locks up when it tries to load most .pz3 or .cr2 files. I've been able to import one or two items (a sword, a Michael 3 figure from .cr2, although he lost all his morphs on the way in). But any moderately complicated figure seems to blow Carrara away (eg. any V3 figure by Aery Soul). I have a dual-core 64bit AMD system with 4 gig of ram, poser 6 with current fixpack and external morph file feature turned off. I have one runtime directory, and have checked multiple times to verify that Carrara is pointing at it correctly. This is what I'm getting. But what should I be expecting? Is Carrara able to import complex/multiple figures/objects for other people? What about large texture files? These are the things that typically bring down a package; Shade, for instance, dies if you try to load more than two vickis because the texture maps eat up all the render memory. Does Carrara have these problems? Is what I'm encountering normal? |

Hello, we have fixed a number of issues regarding the Poser native importer that we are going to release in an update very soon. Have you tried to use TransPoser instead? I do not know of any issue with TransPoser at this point. If you have any problems, please contact me at charles@eovia.com and we can check if those are fixed in our current build and fix any other problem you might have. Charles |
