Puke What gives (rendering problem)

I know this is my first week with Carrara 5 and I'm most possibly not seeing the obvious, but for some reason my renders look very soft (no sharpness in edges at all) regardless of AA or sharpening filter setting.


I was just following Candle tutorial from this website and this is how my render looks like:



However, I noticed that image responded excellently to sharpening filter in PainShopPro7...

Here is the renderer setup:



So, I would like to know what is the secret (It would be nice if some of you shared your personal favorite renderer settings)

if your filter sharpness is 0%, you should expect a blury image. 100% is usually a little too sharp.
