Poser IK

I like the way the Poser IK chain works. If I select "body" to move the figure I can move and rotate the whole figure like a grouped object. If I select "hip" to move the figure the feet stay stuck to the floor because the IK kicks in. I would like to see Carrara work the same way as Poser. I also like the fact the my feet stay stuck to the floor in Poser. Poser has the drop figure to floor option. I wish Carrara could drop to floor or any object I choose, even a lake. Does any one else wish Carrara's IK worked like Poser's?

I can only hope they implement this feature in Carrara 6 but also give the option to use the IK as it works now for people who like the way it works.

I'd rather a better system then what is currently implemented and one better than poser

I don't want to make Carrara into Poser. I want to make Carrara into Messiah or Motionbuilder.

They may infact have some new rigging system in the works for Carrara 6 that will blow away Maya and Aimation Master. If the starter bone (pelvis/hip) had the ability to control all other bones like a grouped object with a right mouse click and with a left mouse click it could work with IK (glue the feet) then it would make it easier to use. I think Carrara could design the IK to work like this. Poser works different if I select the "hip" or "body" but Carrara could design it to work with a right and left mouse click.

Have you tried placing the IK Terminator in the heirarchy of the figure? By grouping the figure to the terminators, you'll have one "object" to move around. If you want the feet to stick, you open the group and move the Ik and/or terminators separately.

From the sounds of it, you can do it already like in Poser by dealing with grouping issues.

I will try the grouping method of the IK. I still think a left and right mouse click to switch modes would be a good idea.
