hello Raccoon 123.

previous versions of Amapi did not support true nurbs.

Amapi 7 pro does.

personally i dont know of any Carrara tuts using nurbs

amapi tutorials can be found at Staigerland.com or 3DCommune.com. or
shonner.com and at the french version of this site Amapi.net.

and soon here ;)

Hi , Amapi pro is too new to have some full tutorials ,I think .. :|
But Nurbs are nurbs and here you'll get what you are searching for.

Carrara is a top soft for rendering ..at this price !!

But in carrara ,you can only (!) polygon ,spline ,metaballs .. Carrara is now able to read and render Amapi's nurbs

thanks for the help. Is spline closest to nurbs. I just want to try modeling with lines for a little to see if it's more better apporach to modeling than polygon modeling.

Raccoon 123, Carrara 3 also has Sub-D poly modeling in the Vertex modeler that can give you NURB like results. If you are using Carrara 3 and would like some good tutorials you might want to buy The Carrara 3 Handbook published by Charles River Media. There are tutorials for every aspect of Carrara's modelers in the book. www.3dxtract.com publishes a monthly free pdf that has tutorials for Amapi and Carrara. Hope this helps.

thanks for the help. this is the first time I had carrara. Is Version 1.1 still as good as the others out there. I have it with a lower version of amapi also. I think 5.5. But hey, I guess it depends on the creativity of person.

A tool is as good as the creativity of the person. Very true.
