Help with led light

Hi, I'm trying to model a led light or something similar to illuminate a sign, and i'm lost making it "strong" so it can lite the sign (see attached image).

I'm using carrara v4 pro, i'm able to make surfaces or objects glow, but can't find a way to lite the sign maybe need other "light" type, also is there any tutorial on how to model a sign (similar to the attached image "logoLite")

Thanks for your help and comments

The key for that kind of sign is using the glow channel to provide the light coming from inside behind the plastic. Here is an example and the shader tree setup for this simple one.

Grendel covered the lighting part

I'm not sure about any tutorial on building a sign. If you are not familiar with poly modeling, the spline editor may be the best way to start... but, I just looked in the tut section, and can't believe we don't have a single one on building basic spline objects. hmm, maybe I'll contribute something

I missed the modeling part rickei is right though you can either get a basic or compund shapes from the spline modeler, use a box modeling in the vertex object or use primitives if the shape is simple enough.

Thanks for the reply, i will ttry that should work fine i did not try to use the texture as a "glow" thanks again for the help,

I would like to ask if i can have some help on how to light up the sign as shown on the second file the one that has the led light above the sign, i'm not able to find a way to illuminate the sign i think i'm looking at a something like a neon light that illuminates the board, but i can't make it work

thanks for the help
