Yes, it's not the point, Ringo.
The fact is that I've recieved a mail from pixologic (1 license) as a customer, for a simple plugin, and nothing from Daz, as a costumer (7 licences) for a major (?) update.

Those guys work hard...

Makes me wonder if there's a spot for this, Luxology never sent me any word of a patch either, just found out here and I'm spending less time on forums and more in the software so I wonder..

Do you mean a specific place on the forum for it Couerl..?##confused'##

I was following the thread of 400 odd posts at Daz,.....hoping that with this patch they would package/make available the "after effects -carrara camera importer plugin " with it . (It was forgotten/not on the C6 cd/download folder )
Official bug report has been made about 3 weeks ago. (http://forum.daz3d.com/bugs/view.php?id=19883)

Have you been getting in to z brush Couerl ? Its great with a wacom tablet .
I havent used it in a while or since Zbrush v3 came out, i wonder if getting a zbrush 3(.1) model with a displacment map into c6 is any easier than now than zbrush2 to c5. Not that it was very hard, but could of been a bit easier.

No, I mean like a news service, a website where you can subscribe to the things that interest you only and have that emailed out, like news about maya or max or carrara or zbrush or whatever you want and have that keep you informed. Following 400 threads is impossible for the average person, I have a very hard time with it.

I've been trying to dig into Modo 301 actually and opted for that over ZBrush because it has more stuff. Just trying to learn how to paint now..

@Couerl , oh I see , I cant say that I am suscribed to anything like that -which covers "holistic software pipeline news".......one forum I frequent has a news section where members post good cg news that they themselves have come across , which results in some v interesting finds,....and completely misses other stuff.

Did you know that the program "massive" which is used on a lotta films for huge crowd/battle scenes is being ported to windows.(Lord of the rings for example)......It aint cheap , but interesting stuff , maybe they do a 30 day trial -LOL.

I read on daz that the problem /error "an error occured when saving" can be solved by deleting unused shaders & objects b4 saving, in case any of youz were hoping for the patch to correct that. (it doesnt)

That's odd Bob Bennett sent me a notice for the service update from Luxology.

As for Daz I've recieved plenty of opportunities to upgrade Vicky's tit's to v.4.5 as well as a slew of other handy items but nothing notifying me of the update.

We're getting some mixed messages from these companies. I never get any tit upgrade notices or other handy items. :/

Hehe, I don't think I get any messages in fact (unsubscribe is your pal).

It is easy to discover updates ASAP — No problem almost always.

Usually, companies will drop serious hints that something is about to happen like Lux did with modo 301. DAZ said by the end of Sept so I was looking anyway. Just put your ear to the ground and you will usually hear it.

I am satisfied enough with the DAZ communication of the update. Also, strategically it may often be better that an updated is slowly spread throughout the user base than rapidly because of any unforseen difficulties.

Same old Carrara team. I have always thought they were great.

Peace,
Stan
