Carrara 5 Standard - for FREE? - Polyloop

Members may be interested to know that DAZ are giving Carrara Studio 5 Standard away free as some kind of promotion.

As far as I have been able to discover, this is currently only available on the November 07 issue of Computer Shopper magazine (DVD edition only) - and is on sale now at WHSmith, Morrisons, and no doubt other places as well.

Do make sure you get the DVD edition of Computer Shopper as it does not feature on the CD edition. Cost £4.99.

Just thought you might like the heads up. Computer Shopper is not the obvious choice.

I just got an extra copy of Car 5 standard from Computer Shopper DVD and registered it. I wonder if it is legal to transfer this and an extra copy of hexgon 2 I got from daz to my brother who is a school teacher?

It would have been better if you wouldn't have registered it.

The way I understand the licensing is that it is registered to a single computer and a single individual. There are methods for multiple licensing, but as you know that costs more.

More than likely no one will object to giving the Hex2 CD to your brother as it will still be licensed to one individual and one computer.

A lot of software is purchased as gifts, so transfer is never a problem.

However, you can't legally use the extra copy on your computer as that would violate the terms of the license.

It's also given away with the latest copy of UK PC Pro magazine. Don't know if it is in the shops yet as my subscription copy usually arrives early.
