The fire primitives and particle animation for Carrara are not on the same level as Fume. You can try using Primivol from www.Inagoni.com, here is an example http://julien.chaplier.free.fr/Downl...ireLowRes2.avi

Not as good as Fume by a very long shot but about as good as it gets for Carrara.

One option that may work for you could be Particla Illusion, It's cheap and turns out fairly good effects that you can composite into your 3d footage.

It's not for lack of trying, Carrara is just very weak for this type of effect.

Assume NOTHING!

Man you are ABSOLUTELY correct! I am ULTRA sorry for wrongfully assuming your ultimate goal was some great flames. The shame of it.

You said in your first post that you had C6 already. Well...check it out and see for yourself. Try the variations, go from one extreme to another. Just play with it and see if it is up to the task. It's not too tough and it is the best way to answer your own question. Isn't it? Are you asking because you don't understand how it works?

Sniff ....

Sorry Mr. BAR-Code. I will be more careful at the register.
