| Carrara 6 Bone Manipulation Improvements?
I see that there is an upgrade price listed on the Daz site from 5 Pro to 6 Pro. Can I assume that it is now available for download? One of the major reasons that I have not used Carrara for character animation was the rather clumsy way users were forced to manipulate bones while in a perspective view, (no universal manipulator). It is pretty important to be able to move bones in the plane of the screen just by grabbing an IK target or a bone, itself, and moving it intuitively. Do Carrara 6 bones allow this kind of movement? Are there any other obvious bone improvements that speed up the animation process? Thanks, Greg Smith |

Sadot: I'm now in possession of Carrara 6 and I do not see any way an animator can move bones in any direction other than one of the pre-defined work planes, which also correspond to the axis handles on the manipulator, whether you are using the translate manipulator or the universal manipulator. If you know of way to move bones along the view plane or, as some call it, the screen plane, (parallel to your monitor face), please, would you explain this to me? Can anyone else clarify this so that everyone can understand? Thank you, Greg Smith |
