Speed of "new" 5.1 (UB) Carrara on PowerPCs

I couldn't find this anywhere else, so a new thread:

Has anyone ever compared the speed of Carrara 5.1 PowerPC and 5.1 Universal Binary, both running on a G5?
Is there any advantage to me in installing the UB-version on my PPC-machine?

Thanks and best regards,
Tassilo

The result will be the same. This update is only if you have a mactel. I'm not aware they fixed some bugs on this update.
Anyway, you can install it, it won't change anything for you! (juste the size of the application which will be twice the previous size ;)

Do you think Thomas, that installing the UB version on my G5 should fix the issues I encountered ? (http://forums.polyloop.net/carrara-f...tml#post121997)

The UB version is the same than the previous one.
But there is a problem with the 5.1 UB : You can not import a TIFF image as a map anywhere in the app.

Patrick: no, never heard of that one. It seems to be a mess with the openGL, but if you have the same in software mode, it's strange...
