| Scale of building models
I am doing a layout of the exterior of my house and patio. I was wondering what scale everyone works in. I've just started on it and the textures in carrara seem very large. I have also seen several people mention Floorplan 3d and I wondered what they do as far as scale of models they import from floorplan 3d. For the price that seems like a good option for buildings and architecture. Thanks.

I use FP3D all the time and export to C5p I use the conventional scale (ft, in) in FP Import into C5, size fits the grid quite well for typical house sizes...need to orient to "north" for sun/shade to work OK...I make sunrise to sunset movies for min/max/mean times of the year at about 30 seconds for each rise to set. I rarely re-size in C5. All objects have imported perfectly so far. FP exports colors only, no textures, no transparency. So texture sizes are all native Carrara VM room can be used to modify imported objects Every imported object brings along its own name from FP...such as wall, ceiling, etc. Doug.S |
