| Effect shaders and normal map for total noob
Hi I am a total noob and I still to understand the basic functions of Carrara;I am a 2d animator and I have a ton of ideas but...3D is much more complicate. today I tryed to model something (the risult is not important, just a test )and I done a sort of torso robot ( it required me half an hour). ![]() then I put the obj model in Sharpcontruct and add some details ( required 10 minute). ![]() Now, since the final mesh is pretty big and I would to export the fist mesh in Carrara , rigged it and animate , with the shaders or the aspect of the second one. I have Hexagon 2.1 Carrara 5.1 Sharpconstruct and can't export a normal map or a displacement map with those softwares, need Zbrush , I guess. I download Nvidia Melody , and try to get a normal map but the software gave me an error and crashed. There is some way to import the heavy mesh obtained with sharpconstruct and get a map for an lighter model with the details obtained with SC and rigged and animated it?

You can do the small detail work in Hexagon, and export your displacement map and low res object into Carrara, which can load the disp. map. If you are rendering in Carrara, it doesn't support normal maps anyway. here's a tute to explain the steps: http://forums.polyloop.net/hexagon-t...-workflow.html |
