CGSphere Challenge - Polyloop

Hi folks,

I just got word from CGsphere that they will use my template as the official C5 one and host it on their site for the challenge.
http://Cgsphere.com (the site is undergoing transfer to a larger web server and won’t be back up for a couple days)

They had 3 million hits last week and a lot of very cool looking entries and thanks Shannon for pointing it out!. J

I didn’t copy the rules down before they shut down the site, but it will be back up in a couple of days and you can get them then, word for word.

In the meantime, you can get the c5 converted template from my website:

Just click the Carrara Icon to save it…

The gist of the challenge is that you can make anything you like that focuses on a sphere. You can alter the geometry, but it must remain spherical overall and you can add props, but the grid must remain mostly visible and not be too cluttered up. The things to focus on are rendering and effects (hair, goo, dress it up, paint it, whatever) and that sort of thing, lighting is also a big factor and they say go ahead and get creative with it and go after a theme if you can.

You may not alter or move the rendering camera and you may not change the grid texture on the background.
I suggest anyone go and check out the entries when their server comes back online, I thought there were some pretty good things there, but nothing that could scare away good C5 composition.

I just stumbled on this, looks like a very cool competition/challange. I think I will participate (with Carrara5 that is)

I think together we can kick some butt over there. Their site is back up and Richard told me they'll load the template tomorrow or something. I hope a lot of us jump in on it. It's a good opportunity to promote all our skills and to promote Carrara in the bigger arena.
