Elephant dream is very cool. for first look the blender is looks like wierd but if you use the program you can see, you can make very good animation, If you use for rendering the YAFRAY. The yafray rendering is very fast and make very good shape, edge, shadow etc... try out the 30+30 minutes tutorial
and you can remake the cookeeeee form SHECK. good luck
