Here is where we differ with regard to Bryce. Corel was about to bury Bryce so deep that nobody would be able to rescue it, after 5 years of letting it sit. Until Daz came along and bought it, and was forbidden to take any of the Bryce Dev Team by Corel.
So, Daz's new Bryce Dev Team had to learn the source code from scratch, and see the total mess it is, before they could get a handle on what
could be done with it, in a
timely manner. Not an easy task.
Given the full circumstances, Bryce 5.5 is a new version, though not enough to be given a full version number (6). To bring to 6, it requires at least a partial source code rewrite, plus features (new and improved existing).
