I know a lot of people at Daz use Poser, Vue, Daz Studio and Bryce. There is a need to buy content since none of the mention programs can model that well compared to Hexagon. If people get Hexagon and find it easy to use I think content sales could go down instead of up. I don't think the need to buy pre made models will be needed if a lot of folks buy Hexagon. They could create content with Hexagon but who will buy it? If everyone learns Hexagon most people will build their own models instead of buying them.
Only time will tell.
