Hey I originally posted this on the Questions and Answers thread,
part of it has been answered, especially the part about the Hex team, that the European team might stay even after the release of 2.1, this will give the US team better time to familiarize themselves with the code for a subsequent take over of the Hex development.
The one thing I don't like about DAZ is the website, and I wish the Eovia website could've stayed, kind of like when it was a TGS company.
I really liked the Eovia website, it was nice, had a sleek design, worked well, was even well-integrated with this site (although I don't visit here much, had to stop by to check out the merger discussion)...
But I guess this would be difficult if Eovia Europe kept the name...
Who will continue to develop Hexagon?
People from the Carrara team?
Are they familiar with the Hexagon code?
These things are important issues to me, as I'd like to see continued development kept up to the current speed...
Familiarising oneself with someone elses code, even when you know the principals of it, takes time,
and it takes even longer if you are going to take a set of two teams, remove one, and now one team is going to code two products...
Now I guess you'll be bringing in new people too, (and I guess these would be DAZ people first and foremost), so speed might not slow down that much, but I'd still like to know.
Thanks.
