This acquisition has all the all the earmarks of a distressed sale. The fact that DAZ did not acquire the HEX develpoment team is a major negative for a well received product that is so early in its evolution. DAZ should consider publishing some type of statement which indicates how it plans to address on-going HEX development to reassure the user-base and the market in general.

Also, merging the brand identities right away I think will hurt, rather than help DAZ. They should have just left Eovia alone for a while and then merged the brands and products together slowly over time.

DAZ is a wonderful content company but it's track record on software is limited. I still have doubts about DAZ's ability to sufficiently fund R&D for both Carrera and Hex.
