It should work with flying colors. Also, the graphic processor/card is only for the designing/modeling stage of 3D with Carrara. Carrara doesn't use the graphic card for any rendering, so for rendering it doesn't make a difference if you have an ancient 16 mb card verus a new 256 mb one.

Keep your old computer and do network rendering. That'll even make your 3D rendering faster. :-)
