Ahhh, the big problem that has caused alot of headaches.

How to get a transparent and reflective object from not picking up color from exterior inflences. This makes it hard to get good looking suspension set stones. You might want to try using a different shader for the pavilion section of the stone. This can exclude alot of the color that is seeping into the stone. I've attached a screenshot of a similar ring and it's stone shader. All the gold is not gone but it is reduced quite a bit.
