What is a speed contest? How does it works?
Every week or couple of week, a new subject is added to the list. It can be a modeling, rendering, animation, shading, etc. subject. In subject you have a time limit indicated, like 2 hours. It means that you have two hours to complete the subject, and not one minute more. When this limit is over, submit your result.

Can I have an example?
Take this sample subject: "Modeling: A hand - Time: 1hour"
It means that you have one hour to model the best hand you can make, in Hexagon, Carrara, or Amapi. When you have done, post a set of screen capture of your modeling in the software you use with some comments

Some subject can have a 3D content include, to do the speed contest, like a 3D model, with a skinning and rigging, for an animation contest. Another example: "Animation- Jump over a window - Time: 2 hours"
In the original subject, a 3D file including a scene, with a window, a wall and a character ready to animate. Like this, you can only focus to the animation itself: make the best animation of the character which jumps other the window. When you are done, you post a render of your animation (no need to use a nice render, it's not the interesting part of the subject) with some screenshots.

When do I start to count the time of my creation?

When you launch your 3D software. You can think about the subject before, as long as you want. But the chronometer starts when you start your creation.

How do we vote, what are the prizes I can win?
No vote, it's only a contest to make you progress in 3D and share your skills with others. Then, nothing to win, except improving your skills (and it's one of the best prize you can ever win ;)

Where do I post my results?
Only reply to the message where the subject has been submitted.

Can I do twice the contest?
In fact, as much as you want. A subject will be never closed, then, if you want to do it again, you can. By the way, respect again the same rules, and don't use "old" stuff you did before.

What do I include in the post where I show my result?
Well.. your result, some screenshots if it's not a modeling contest, and some comments: what was the problems you had, how did you avoid them, etc...

What are the minimum skills requested?
No minimum skills requested, but please, try to get the best result you can do. If the time requested is two hours, then, try to do it in two hours. If you finish before, try to improve some parts of your creation.

What are the software which are allowed?
All!

Misc:

The moderators don't have any solution to know if you respected the time limit of the subject. We are not the police, these contests are for everybody. Then, repects the rules!
