Yeah something like that is what came to mind for me too, not specifically with Cinema, but I saw yesterday a presentation at the LA lightwave user group and it's pretty neat what you can do with cloth deformers that are weight mapped, for waving hair with gravity and wind and latency....
During a crash, a car folds like cloth, so perhaps you can simulate similar behaviour with Poser 5's cloth system or something in Carrara.
Is there a way to have deformers across a mesh which acts like weightmaps on vertices, kinda like bones have weights?
