Importants rules about the forum and community - Règles de savoir vivre sur ce forum

Français plus bas
English:

Before sending a message or starting a new thread, please read carefully the remarks below. If you don't respect these simples rules, don't complain if your messages are deleted!

- Write in clear English (or French) and don't use abbreviations or "SMS" style (phonetic):
Please, try to write in the best English as you can, it will be helpful for other language users to understand what you mean and the result of the automatic translation will be better.
If you use abbreviations, please, use the more common ones.

The spelling mistakes are tolerated, I am the first to make a lot (even in French)...

- Be clear in your requests:
When you have a problem about a bug, modeling/mapping, etc., please provide as much details as possible.
Not:
Quote:
"my screen is black"
but rather
Quote:
"I have something which seems to be a problem of display. I have my icons, but my objects in 3D are not visible. You will find a capture of screen attached. I am using Amapi 6.1, Mac OS X 10.3, with an ATI Rage 128."
That will make it so that members do not have to ask you questions in order to imagine what the problem might be, and will surely make you save time.
In the case of the detailed example above, we would be able to answer that it is caused by a preference not activated in Amapi 6 (or older) and that it is related to Mac OS X.
The more details you provide, the more quickly you will have an accurate answer.
Add captures/screenshots and/or your files when possible!
When you have a graphic problem, which is often the case, such as for example:
Quote:
"Why my render is blue when I do a green shader with red dots ?"
or
Quote:
"When I click on the vertex on the right, that selects me the one on the left .."
When someone doesn’t have the problem in front of them, it's almost impossible to imagine what the problem could be, much less find way to solve it.
So make us screenshots of your shaders, results, error messages, etc.

Please, do a screen capture only of what is necessary, and don't forget to compress it !)

Also add your 3D files if possible, because in certain cases, the capture is not sufficient. And remember to compress your 3D files (zip or rar), too.
Do a search before starting a new thread.
The forum has a powerful search engine and it is simple to use. Do not hesitate to use it before submitting a message about a technical question or something else: it may be that your question was already asked, and answered.

Post your requests clearly!
Please do not post large blocks of text. Also, use punctuation, add jumps lines, classifications, etc.
A clear message will be much more pleasant to read, and will be more likely to receive a clear and quick answer.
