If the company that you are making the animation for doesn't specify the program they want it done in, then it's fair game to use Carrara for it.
Depending on the contract you have with them, they may want the source files that you used to build it. If so, then you probablly want to disclosure ahead of time that you are using Carrara and any specific modeling programs to build it.
Also, I've read recently that carrara doesn't support 29.97 rendering. You will want to tell the company ahead of time that you'll be rendering at 30 FPS, that way there isn't a surprise of incompatible video formats later. Also, find out if they want uncompressed, compressed with **blank** codex, or sequenced stills. If video clips, do they want AVI or MOV?
