simonced may have a point about the wall bump being a fraction heavy--by a weany bit maybe (though my house is nearly as cracked at the moment)
I could imagine a broken wall top--no roof--but maybe the scene need to be in moonlight?
Whatever, every version you are doing is working in its own right! Great imagery ideas. Thanks for sharing--great inspiration.

I like it, my only comment is to put a nice green field with a tree in far back (in the window) instead of what you got. Why you may ask, well he is inside and sad with 4 walls while outside is a world for him to discover, also the contrast of colors will make your image much more powerful.

Well for what's it's worth, I feel that through the window is too busy, if there is broken glass I can't see it.

I think the wall behind the glass is the problem, cause it is the same color and texture as the wall inside. That is why i gave the idea of tree and farm.

Looking really good Mox... Only 2 crits from me.

1. I thing the window would look better with slats... so it will have 4 pains instead of just one.

2. It feels as if the background should be more urban than the country scene you have now.

Keep up the great work!

I wonder as there is no ceiling/roof, whether the image would cope with say just the shadow(s) of some ceiling joists/rafters ? Not too many though.

Nice 3D scene work! I think in the real world the best background for outside should be matched some old houses like in town since this is an abandoned house. BTW what's resolution did you use in this rendering?
me I always use wide pixel format in 300dpi in carrara.

I appreciate.
The tree in the window looks more like a painting on a wall than part of the background.
