Toon Face animation with morph carrara 5

Here its my first facial animation done in carara 5 standar. I didit only to learn some of the new features.

I model the character in hexagon and some of the expresion and all the animation in carrara 5 standar

Its closer to pixar (yeah right)

it not so bad I do the animation without any reference or mirror, Next time i use a video for reference. The proccess in the facial expresion in hexagon was very easy with the symetrical feature. I figureout that the soft selection in carrara 5 dont work with the morphs ( Its a bug maybe) any way enjoy.

Here its the video
http://www.mox3d.com/toonface.mov

You can ask me any question of the process, Am not so perfect in english but i need to practice more .

wow , good, we have to watchout for you. great work, your inspiring me. Just a question, did you put the teeth in and kept the mouth open when you modeled? Then in the process of animation you opened the lips and there was the teeth?

Great work. Share some details on the experience? Some screencaptures? List of morph targets?

Hello and thank's for this splendid exemple !
I've a few questions ???
How many target did you used ?
Dou you believe that your video, as exemple, is a real help for time, timing or realism... all ?
How many time did you passed on this exemple and for the render !

That's all hé hé !
Thank's a lot

I use 8 morph targets
4 for the mouth and 4 for the eyes and eyebrows

(Dou you believe that your video, as exemple, is a real help for time, timing or realism... all ?) I think I dont undestand this one.

I spend hour and half in the model, 4 or 5 hours i think learning the proces of targets doing the face expresions and riging with the bones. 1 hour of making the sss shader and lights looks nice. The animation process was a little hard because I dont get realtime preview of the final result of the animation wen smoth is turn on, so I need to make a draft rendering every time I modify keyframes.

The renderin was fast only have faster antialiasing because was only a test, took about 1 hour of rendering i think.

Moxstudios-

Did you get issues with scaling and the eyes. Or did you end up using a combination of morph targets to get the result you were looking for? Morph targets can be a bit picky since they take the shortest route to get the required result.

Nichod- I get weird stuff only when you try to combine some morph, but you need to slide down one a little to apply other morph, any way I make a short screen capture for you to see the proyect.
