Speed modeling in Hexagon

A short creation in Speed Modeling with Hexagon 1.2.

1h38 of modeling, with at the end, only one extra triangle and no n-gones. next step, Zbrush !

Tomorrow morning, the video at 600% speed of the modeling.

This is the video. The speed is 600% of the original speed. It also include some Zbrush doodling at the end.

Wow, really fast.
Do you texture it now?
Maybe you can make a tutorial with UV Mapping?
That´s the only thing i have never used

MRK-X2 : I don't think I'll texture it, it's only a speed modeling. I'll do a displacment map in Zbrush, and why not, texturing it if I have enough time.
For the UV maps, i'll use the Guvtiles of Zbrush. not a really nice thing to see ;)

I just updated the video with the Zbrush edits, for those of you who want to see the final part.

Sorry, i'm not at all a big Zbrush user...

You won't see the carrara render since Zbrush crash almost at the end of the modeling and I didn't saved it before this crash...

Thomas...

That is awesome.

A suggestion.... can you .zip the files? That 83 meg size is a mite big -- I live in a rural area and my satellite connect is pretty fast, but this file sort of chokes on download.

Thanks for the great things you are doing for Hexagon.

behzad....

what I have done with these is make the vid player go frame-by-frame... click the right and left arrows to advance... then you can see all those quick moves. Maybe he did it fast to cut down on file size?... 83 megs as it is.

If I have some time, I'll do again the Zbrush part and texture it and render it in Carrara 5

Well.. I did some Zbrush yesterday afternoon/night with Carrara 5. I'm still not at all a Zbrush master, but I begin to understand much better how it works and what can I realy do with it.

And a small animation/Test render with with a displacment morphing - 660 kb)

Very nice model. Would we nice to get similar tools from Zbrush in Hexagon 2.
We need paint displacement mapping in Hexagon 2.

Hmmm, that sounds nice.

Maybe they could call it Hexabrush.

I do like the idea though since the results are so stunning and even some limited displacement tools would be better than none. I wouldn't expect to have z-brush copied into Hexagon2, but it would be nice to have some of that tool set available for general edits.

I second Ringo!!
I have just upgraded Carrara Pro and Photoshop and I can't afford to buy another full priced program such as ZBrush at the moment. Displacement paint in Hexagon would be fantastic.
