War Of The Worlds

I think it's now far enough in to be called a project... Nowhere near perfect, but I think I'm doing quite well. Modelled with Polys (Nurbs wouldn't create some of the surfaces and I prefer not to keep switching) The head needs attention, as you can see (the line down the middle) and possibly re-model the lower joints in the legs. If anyone can tell me how to make this mesh into a solid shape, please say. I'll provide the file too if you want to have a go. My basis for the model is from http://forums.eveofthewar.com/photos...up&cat=5&pos=3 . I have a few more tentacles to add and generally apply more detail. Then comes the task of rendering it :S

It's a pretty good start on your project. About the seems and program, are you using Carrara, Amapi or Hexagon? Since you mentioned Nurbs, I'll assume Amapi Pro, in which case, I'm of very limited help. If it is carrara or hexagon, I'll try to talk you through the different ways to combine two sides of a model.

Hm

I'm using Amapi Pro 7.51 to model, and I'll export into Carrara for the render.

Basic Carrara Renders

Work so far. Still trying to find a lighting setup that will light it properly. Enjoy.
