| Spaceship - Trying to improve detail
This idea started from Unreal Tournament, but has sort of become my showpiece so far. I'm trying to use all the techniques I know (Nurbs and Poly) although they are probably about 1% of all the things you can do in Amapi. I'm trying for a detailed piece, and as my techniques sometimes arent the neatest, it has a few slowdowns.... So far just basic renders in Amapi (Still waiting for replies on the Carrara front. The Europe support is only in french, so they use a translator machine to translate. Leaves me very confused.) Bonus points to the person who spots where the seats come from :D

Being ill really does make you bored... Here's more work on the cabin, This time on the sort of computer monitors that everyone thinks you have on a spaceship. I'm no expert on spaceships, so I'm taking ideas from things. As to problems, does anyone else using a Mac have problems when using the Reflect tool in off-set mode? If I try and use it as such and the centre of my piece that im trying to reflect isn't at a value used in the basic guidelines (eg 5, 10 or 0.05, 0.01,) then I cannot use the 'basic guidelines' as a plane of reflection, nor can I type numbers in and have it use that. This may be because I'm not typing the numbers correctly, or simply because this is a bug. I can type the numbers in, hit return or enter, and nothing will happen. If someone can help please do. Other problem, which is going to get bigger and bigger as things get more complete, how can I import different components and make sure that they keep their texturing from before?

Looking nice, dunno if you will like to have those kind of stairs inside a spaceship, maybe a ramp, elevators, a promenade where you could look down upon the main screen, etc?

| Now with added Bryce
Hi, more work... Thanks for the comment. It was meant to double as a promenade, but I think it's just too thin. I'll see what I can do with re-sizing it. The angle also makes it look thinner than it really is. This render is done in Bryce4 (some odd stuff is happening with getting Carrara) but it doesnt look too bad. I'll add the actual cabin and extras next and render that, but I'm posting this now cause I dont know how long thats going to take... Does anyone know how to get an engine glow effect or similar effect, either in Bryce4/Amapi or Photoshop? I'll have a try, but i dont know what the end will be like. Thanks for feedback Rowan

| And so...
Don't know why, my renders always turn out dark for others. Hopefully now I've recalibrated the monitor it should be better. Just stuck it in photoshop and clicked auto.
