This is with a smoothing of 1. Basically, I'm tracing lines in a 3D space with the Polyline Tool and using the Facet Tool to connect the dots.

very nice work !! Everything seems to be nice, by the way, when you post a wire (or shaded with wire), post a version without the smoothing ;)
It's better to criticize the modeling ! ;)

yeah thats pretty much what i said ;)

i used to make figures this way once , very precise control but very slow work if i remember rightly.

that said its looking good, fairly clean mesh, better than my first go at a humaniod at any rate ;) and no you dont get to see that :D :D

keep us posted

I take me 2 hours and a half to make a head with this modeling technique
When you understand which curves you have to use, it's really fast ! (faster than boxmodeling for highpolycount models)

I bought the book, Stop Staring, from http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS...717839-1307843

I came pretty close to looping the eyes and mouth the way the book recommends for face expressions. It's a fantastic book.

I'll be adding a tongue, teeth, and gums to this head after I get the ears (if any) modeled.
