Attack on Hoth

Hello everybody,
This is my last scene with Softimage XSI.
Attack on the ice planet Hoth. I used mentalray with Final Gathering
and composed with a background photo and retouching in Photoshop CS3.

I hope you like it.
Greetings.

Nice work
However it looks like scene lighting does not conform to the background photo lighting. And shadows casted by machines a too sharp for such snowy place.

I agree with WacR about the lighting. I don't really get a sense of the scale of the walkers because there is nothing else for comparison. Maybe if you added some droid or a-wing around their feet for reference to the immensity or adjust the camera angle from an flying persective to an up angle closer to the ground level.

Cheese on fire, nice
I am sure with softening of shadows and lighting it will look fine

Fantastic work on the modeling, i think the models are a bit too shiney(metallic/specular)
but over all impressive and the wires you posted are just as impressive, you can really see the work involved.

Nice modeling!

Only comment is the sense of scale thing, which has already been mentioned.

I think I also might have tried a lower viewpoint. Those walkers are really massive
