I love the concept, the modeling and the bear texture. I'm not sold by the rope. It looks too cartoony and probably should be distressed/frayed a bit more. And I'm not sure a basket would stay perfectly balanced under these conditions. The weight would probably shift to one corner.

That's it. The elongated weave and the sharpness make it look more like a steel wire than a rope. If it's a displacement map, try adding noise to it.

I like the original rope because the image is a cartoon! Except the skulls (IMO they don't fit with the bear, I think at some apples? ) I like all!

Can you tell me, please, how to paint clouds like that (the basic steps)?

The bear is very cute, and realistic, but from the first time I saw him I sensed something a little sinister about him, like maybe he was Chucky's favorite stuffed animal. I guess I must be a good judge of Teddy bears!

Can you give some ideas on how you went about doing the rope (and knots) displacement effects please?

Or anyone else who has a simple way of creating rope displacement on curved/twisted/knotted ropes?

A plug in for Carrara like this one for Lightwave?

That looks super Brian!! Now you just have to build the rest of the sailing ship to go with it.
