[Hex2.5-C6Pro] Fairchild C-123

I spent many weekends and late nights making this plane, it's my first major attempt at a model, second attempt total. I originally posted it in the Daz forums for Hex and Carrara, but got little feedback...Especially for the completed C6 version (The WIP crowd were quite nice).

I basically learned as I went on this, so there are a lot of mistakes in the mesh. N-gons? Yeah, I got 'em in there. Smoothing? Didn't learn it yet while I was working on this...Materials? Trial and error all the way.

I was most happy with the rigging afterwards, so it is quite animatable. And it seems to crash good, too

Anyhoo, please let me know what you think

The pictures are of the final work in Hex, the last mesh work finished in C6P, and the texturing in a few render tests...

This is pretty good for a first major model - should have seen mine (which you won't ).

I also like the ambient occlusion render and the last one with the sun and animals, are they cows?

I think that render could benefit from a bit more work on the lighting and has the makings of a very nice picture.

Keep up the good work - and welcome to polyloop

nice 2nd model Alexandra!

the renders look fine, but the lighting and the environments could be improved for more realism.
Maybe use an aerial photo for a background instead of a terrain. then match your lighting to the photo.

good work so far

Thank you, I'm trying to learn a bit more about making nice clouds and skies...And I've been reading about lighting and shadow...So hopefully I'll have either a more refined version of the "cows" pic or something better soon

Also trying to start a new model...
