F-22 "Raptor" build

Hello everybody,

I'm building a precision scale model of Lockheed-Martin's F-22 "Raptor" in 3D, and have created a "follow-along" article, which begins at http://www.mikejamesmedia.com/f_22_01_intro.html

The model is coming along nicely, and there are some animations in the article too. Here's the model, as it stands today.

That's quite a project you've taken on there. How many polygons are you up to at this point?

Thank you!

I just checked the model in another piece of software, and it's 26,000 polygons.

Hi Mike, saw your post over at Luxology. I got modo this year and I'm really liking it. There are some great tools and the tutorials ease you into the modo 'way' without too much trauma.

I started with teaching myself first with Silo 1.2, then moved to Hexagon and now modo. I got it in March and I think I've learned more about modeling in the past few months than the past few years

Let us know when you've moved onto modo and how you get on.

Yes!

I started with what is now Carrara, way back in the "Ray Dream Designer" (Metacreations) days, and I have to say, it' served me well, especially for the price.

But. WOW! The Modo demo version, as well as the training videos, just have me drooling. Now THAT's how a modern modeling package should be! I haven't been this excited over a software purchase in year... can't wait. The quality of my work is about to go WAY up, thanks to those tools.

Thanks again.
