is it a pre-colombian tiger mask ? ![]() Sorry if I hurt you I think at first that you should show us the wireframe. I guess that there is some mistakes, especially around the eyes, the mouth and the nostrils- the shape in general - if it's supposed to be a real tiger. |

Hi, Peter, I agree with Piem. If it is not a mask then it looks a bit narrow to me. A tiger's head is really quite broad. Also the nose is more in-line with the top of the head. Some wires would be good too. Are you using any reference?

I think the bottom ref picture has been squashed a bit from left to right giving you a false view of how the tiger looks from the side. Have a look at this one: As you can see the bridge of the nose is much higher and extends further out than in your model and in your ref pic. I found this one here http://www.vistawallpapers.com/img5044.htm There's a nice big version to download. Hope this helps. Keep us posted on your progress.

I think you would be better served looking at a lioness instead of a tiger. I think the hair volume is disguising the form. The bridge of the snout is also wider and flatter while yours is a little pointed and narrow. For the body try to think what a cat looks like when it's wet, not as massive as what you're showing. Try the lioness again but stretch out the center torso to get it into a tiger shape and not as broad in the haunches and chest as a lion. The paws are to small as well I think. |

That is one fat cat ![]() The body definitely needs to be longer and thinner for a tiger (as Grendel suggested)

Maybe Peter is using a photo reference of a zoo tiger. With all the fur and all that lazy life - and free food (the tiger doesn't need to hunt for eat) - the animal becames fat. ![]() Nice start, Peter. Did you see the Polyloop's french forum recently? There's a nice tiger modeling going on there, from Hugo, with a cool wireframe for your study. http://forums.polyloop.net/travaux-c...at-orange.html Keep the good work. Cheers!
