Spires

Base mesh of the spire was modeled in Hexagon then sculpted in Modo,final rendered in Carrara 5 pro , trying Modo out for an alternative landscape tool ! Thanks for stopping by , Michael,

Why didn't you tried to model/render everything in modo ?

Originally i did try to render in Modo but i couldn't come up with a "strata" rock shader that was worth anything i am still working on my materials in Modo that is my weak point ! And thanks behzad and yes it's way out there . Regards , Michael.

Indeed it seems that Carrara has powerful shaders. Was it hard to make that nice "mushroom-like" greenish texture over the rocks?
Nice landscape, just lacks a bit of nude beauty popping out somewhere... :-p

Hello carrozza the shader is as simple as it can get for Carrara it is the "Taupi" preset shader , i made some minor adjustments in the distribution height , roughness etc. etc.

Nice job! I'm a big fan of Roger's work myself. Got his book 'Views' when it first came out in 1975. Still have it but it is looking a bit tough ([edit] ha this should have said rough ) round the edges now
