yes, all idea is in TH... actualy not in object, (there is no need to use TH) but in modifer "poin at"
You can just 'poin at' one cylinder to another, becous poin at use hot points of the object. But it's necessary to put hotpoints of cylenders in the rotation centers

That works to a point but it is hard to get a four point gimbal effect with just point at. Here is a simple boom crane I had done for a concept at work.

Looking good so far I used to have a chaos army of Thousand Sons when I played 40k.

and how does it work?
There is nothing hard to do with 'point at' in your video, may be because i don't know a better way?

perhaps.. but do you have better suggestions?
Thanks.

nice, but too difficult. And its necessary to use ball joints on the both sides of the cylinders.

That is correct as you would in real life for a gimbal but for illustration purposes this was quicker. Looking forward to whatever you come up with

Well I think it is looking good Duke.

Don't be sad though, sometimes people take a little time to come back.

Are you going to sub-d the guns? They are looking too blocky to me.

I agree with Ash 100% Some of my posts don't get many comments and others get allot even if I felt better about the lower comment work I did. It's hard to tell what will appeal to more people. Here there are only maybe 2-3 dreadnoughts but if you go to 3dpalace there are probalby a hundred because of the tutorial and 40K influence of that site.

I don't remember a pincer being available in 40K. Are you going to spend more time with the textures to add detail instead of using mesh density?

there is very good texture maker in our team, she will do highly detailed textures, and i'll add some extra dettails in zbrush as normal map. So all sub-d she will do using turbo smooth in 3dmax as needed...

it's weapon of some chaos dreads, you can see them on some models, but it's my design for this model.

thanks for comments.
