Your screenshots don't help for critics and comments. Please, use another color than black for the background (and crop your screenshot please!) and keep in mind that posting the shaded wireframe will help to understand your topology, and then, giving you a better feedback!

Hi Peter - like these skulls already. How are you managing with the rest?
Do you use reference sketches projected on the grids? Do you start out with box modeling, or do you go straight into the smooth mode?
Lot of questions.... Newbie trying to learn as much as possible!

I start with simple plane and follow the topology
and cut and weld and using the maxes tools
I use 3dmax

Great so far! Especially the head!
Only the passage where the head meets the throat looks a bit edgy... you know what I mean?
