| AKA Monkey King ![]() | Elements for possible future web comic
Working up an idea for a sci fi comic have a long way to go on it. The characters are a pompus captain and a trigger happy security guy and a second in command that frantically tries to keep things going smoothly despite everyone else. I will need to get a better machine to rig the characters. and really get the ideas in motion. but I am gettign a bit of a start now. Modeling doen in Wings3D and the rendering done in Messiah. |

Thanks for the comments guys well Got more done on the muscle bird dude. Put on a few shaders and did a quick messiah render. Once these character are rigged they will come to life. the ship is fairly simple made to look toonish and a bit birlike too without being overly birdlike. Two more major characters to make and a few minor ones before I start putting together panels. |

Rickei I can see those influences there is a bit of norman in the helm too. Anyways made a sidearm forthe captain and did a render of the big gun. Really need to get 3 more characters done and rig the whole works before comic can start.

OK got some time to work on a new character the pilot. He likes his shuttle a lot (hey there wipe your feet and get your fingers off the paintjob there) and tries to keep a low profile. Personality a cross between Wash in Firefly and Jeff Lebowski.

Thanks Nate glad someone knows the referance. Anyways more work done on it. Here is the last of the main characters she will be the one trying to keep this motly crew together. Think of a female version of Dilbert. Still a lot to do. I did order a new machine a quad core so soon the computing side of things will be handled a bit better. |

Well more testing done and I am to the point wher eI need to make a few bit players and more that that sets here is the shuttle interior set simple to the point. I could go more elaborate but I want to actually get to teh point where I am making a story so I keep it simple and clean. Here we have our four main characters in their transport. So 4 characters rigged and ready two more to go for the first part fo the story. the new machine is makign things a lot faster. I had to make some sort of comprimise though the interior shot was too grainy with area lights. I could up teh quality a number of steps but then it woudl never get done. I am using GI but GI and area lights was too much to get doen in a reasonable time at the resolution I want. |

I agree with you Rickie to a point. I wanted to make a softer feminine face with larger eyes. I got it but I did give up some expression in the brows I have better pics of her but they are actual panels I will post a new one soon. I did rig the eyes of her a bit too they can get larger and smaller for some squash and stretch type of pics. the captain and the pilot both have brows with controls for them. I did ponder both ways but I am findign the current rig and model work well so I will go with it later I might change soem things I want to get more progress done. First episode will take about 24 panels. then subsequent episodes? |
